Work Experience

Network Administrator

12/06 - Present  Garlands Inc, Minneapolis, MN

§  Administrate the wireless and wired networks, servers, end user PCs, databases and phone systems for 4 locations with VPN and 50 employees around the U.S. 

§  Network consists of a mix of hardware (Dell, Watchguard, Gateway, and Compaq) running Windows XP, Vista, 2003, Office 2007, CentOS Linux and VMWare.

§  Maintain our Activant Prophet 21 (ERP) wholesale distribution software; email server, 6 websites using IIS and Apache, SQL databases and end user hardware/software.  

§  Implemented a trouble ticket system, outage tracking, intranet site, company calendar and other web based tools to streamline everyday business processes.  As well as migrated network to Active Directory in a Windows 2003 environment.

Business Operations Support - Level 1

11/06 - 12/06  Comcast, Minnetonka, MN

§  I provide technical support for Comcast's business class customers. Their services include Video, High Speed Internet, Dedicated Access, Fiber and Webhosting. Assist with billing and contract questions.

Local Network Operations Center / Level 3 Technician

9/06 - 11/06  Comcast, Minnetonka, Minnesota

§  As part of the Adelphia deal, Time Warner Cable in the Minneapolis metro area transitioned over to a Comcast franchise.

§  My job duties stayed the same as Time Warner Cable, but we will be soon we will be supporting all of the Minneapolis and St. Paul metro areas.

§  I am currently training with CSG and Motorola cable equipment to provide the best possible customer service to customers in all of our serviceable areas.

Local Network Operations Center / Level 3 Technician

11/04 - 8/06  Time Warner Cable, Minnetonka, MN

§   Monitor the Minneapolis metro area HCF / Coax cable network.

§   Respond to outages and impairments, dispatch and assist technicians in resolving service impacting issues.

§   Provide level 1, 2 and 3 support for Voice, Video and High Speed Data services to residential and business customers.

§   Assist in troubleshooting of any in-house technical problems and escalations if need be.

Team Leader / DSL Support / Website Support

§   Supervised the technical support floor as well as the Team Leaders on a daily basis.

§   Created, administered and updated trainings on new technologies.

§   I was cross trained in DSL, Web hosting, Email and Dial-up support.
